Robert W Chatelain - Woodturner

Robert Chatelain has created one of a kind vessels from native Vermont red maple, black cherry and box elder burl. He has developed Hybrid Turning, a unique method to inlay the naturally occurring voids in the burl with colored resins and gold leaf.
Robert's work is shown at numerous museums and art collections across the country. Every piece is a one-of-a-kind work of art. Decorative vessels often are accented with extremely small openings, while lidded vessels are frequently used as a beautiful cremation urn.

Robert and his family recently relocated from Vermont to Phoenix, Arizona. He is in the process of re-establishing a working studio but at this time is not currently producing art work. All remaining inventory is available directly from the artist, contact information is listed below. If you are in Arizona, you are welcome to arrange a personal visit.

His work is also carried by The Center for Art in Wood in Philadelphia and urns can be found online at Memorial Gallery
